Everyday life for Peter had for years meant hard work, running a business, taking care of a wife sick of pelvic solution and fibromyalgia and three children. As he reached the forties, severe back pain forced him to take off eight to fourteen days thrice a year.
- I could hardly get out of my car, and when I had to take time off because of my back, my employees from time to another thought they could stay home as well, which is not good for a company, Peter explains.
Peter regularly went to chiropractor and physician. When he walked out of the clinics he felt the pain in the spine decreased but after two days of hard work, the pain was back and excruciating. As years passed by Peter learned to live with the pain and the three times a year he had to take off, he saw no other solution.
- I realized there was no way out of the vicious circle. I had worn my back out but had to continue life. My family couldn’t make it without me and I couldn’t quit my company, Peter explains.

An important decision
In 2005 Peter’s life turned upside down, when some friends mentioned they had attended a “Power of the Spirit Meeting” in Helsinge, held by a nondenominational church in Copenhagen named “Copenhagen Bible training Center”.
- When our friends told us about their positive experience, I thought it would be interesting to attend the next meeting in Helsinge, but my wife protested. Due to her sickness we had tried so many alternative therapists, training programs and she was still sick with prospects to end her life in a wheelchair. She thought this meeting as another alternative move and she had it. I told her it was alright if she wouldn’t go, I would, Peter says and adds with a smile:
- But polite as she is, she went with me and a friend of ours, and there at the meeting she was hit by the power of God without anyone praying for her or touching her, and was instantly healed and gave her life to Jesus. I was amazed and could hardly believe what I saw. I decided to ask Pastor Jens Garnfeldt to pray for me, after all it worked for my wife, and I believed it could happen to me too.
Peter went to the Pastor and told him about the severe back problem and Jens Garnfeldt prayed for him.
- I was stunned and could hardly speak, when he prayed in Jesus’ name, the pain left my body and I could straighten by back. After that experience I had to believe Jesus was real and had healed me. Our lives were completely changed when we later walked out of the doors from the meeting, Peter says.

A word of knowledge
After having an encounter with Jesus, Peter and his wife became believers and a new life embraced them. Peter continued working in his company and experienced several miracles in the marketplace as a result of handing his life and company over to Jesus. His wife began running marathons and they had child number four. Their home was renovated and Peter could use his skills and creativity as bricklayer without having to rethink the design and make it fitting into wheelchair surroundings.
- I worked harder because the pain was gone and I didn’t take good care of myself, as a matter of fact I didn’t think about it. After five years the severe back pain returned, Peter says.
One Thursday evening in January 2010 Peter and his wife attended an evening service in Copenhagen Bible training Center and listened to Pastor Jens Garnfeldt preaching. In the end of the sermon the Pastor gets a word of knowledge.
- He looks at the congregation and says. “There is a person here tonight who suffers from severe back pain, who is it?”. I though, hey that’s me and I quickly made my way up to him. Then he prayed for me and I felt how the pain left after a couple of minutes, again I was amazed at the power of the Holy Spirit, Peter says.
Today Peter‘s back is completely healed and he is able to run his business in the marketplace.
- I am so thankful to the Lord. After experiencing and feeling God’s power on my body and seeing what he did for my wife, I am even more convinced of God. I know he is real. I too know what he did for me and my house, he can do for others, Peter says and adds with a smile:
- Jesus has healed me from severe back pain twice. Now I’m also aware of taking good care of my body though I’m a hard worker. Now that my back is healed I can continue my business. Thanks be to Jesus!
